Hi, I'm Vikki! An artist local to Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. I graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art with a BA hons degree in painting in 2011. Since then, I've been making art full-time. The majority of my work is commission based with pet portraits and landscapes (with a figurative element) being my most popular subject matter. Recently, however, I have seen a rise in wedding portraits which I really enjoy. The only subject I *try* to steer clear of, is full on front facing portraiture, and even then I do still take them on from time to time.....because I'm just a big walking contradiction - aren't we all?
When I'm not painting, I travel around Scotland in my wee van with my partner, John, and my dog, Max. We're so in love with spending our time off in the outdoors, whether it's climbing mountains, swimming in rivers, rafting the lochs, or walking for miles through the forests, we are just in awe of everything our country has to offer. It's my love for Scottish landscapes that informs my work whenever I'm left to my own devices (or fancy a wee break from the long commission list!) It's a great excuse to make a bunch of little 20x30cm canvasses to sell in online sales - if you follow me on Facebook you'll know all too well what I mean!
